    A considerable portion of Sysco’s historic growth has come from acquiring good companies with extraordinary people that complement or expand the footprint of our core business. In fiscal 2013, we continued that tradition by acquiring 14 businesses with more than $1 billion in annualized sales in the United States, Canada, the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland and the Bahamas. We are also rolling out a new brand strategy in New York City aimed at growing our business in this important market.
