Ingredients
| | 14 oz. SYSCO Imperial Chicken Gravy Mix |
| | 1 c. SYSCO Classic Butter |
| | 1 c. SYSCO Classic Onions, chopped |
| | 4 c. SYSCO Imperial Celery, chopped |
| | 2 c. SYSCO Imperial Mushrooms, sliced |
| | 1 c. SYSCO Imperial Carrots, shredded |
| | 5 c. SYSCO Imperial Wild rice or long grain and wild rice, cooked |
| | 2 c. SYSCO Classic Chicken, cooked and cubed |
Preparation
| 1. | Prepare SYSCO Imperial Chicken Gravy Mix according to package directions using 4 quarts of water for preparation. Set aside. |
| 2. | Melt butter in an 8-quart stockpot. Saute onions, celery, carrots and mushrooms in butter over medium heat unitl onions are translucent, about 5 minutes. |
| 3. | Combine prepared gravy, onions, celery, carrots, mushrooms, rice, chicken, additional 2 cups of water and wine, stirring well. Add salt and pepper to taste. |
| 4. | Simmer for approximatly 10 to 15 minutes over low heat, stirring frequently to prevent sticking (thin with additional hot water if needed.) Garnish with fresh chopped parsley or tarragon. |
| 5. | Add-Ins: 1 cup chopped water chestnuts, 3/4 cup slivered almonds, or 1 cup chopped polish sausage. |
