Sysco’s Specialty Meat Group processing facilities are dedicated to the highest standards of food safety and quality. To meet this commitment, Sysco has chosen the Safe Quality Foods (SQF) Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) compliant food safety certification process. This process is designed to assess a myriad of different food safety requirements detailed in the comprehensive SQF Code for Food Processing and SQF code for Animal Product Processing. Compliance is measured through an extensive multi-day audit of each facility by certified third party auditors. Additionally, Sysco’s Specialty Meat and Seafood processing facilities go the extra mile and are certified for not only SQF Food Safety compliance but also Food Quality compliance which is above and beyond GFSI requirements.
