Buckhead Mid-Atlantic
Who we are
Buckhead Mid-Atlantic is the Mid-Atlantic’s superior center-of-the-plate and specialty food distributor located in Landover, Maryland. Buckhead Mid-Atlantic has been supplying the most well-known hotels, restaurants, caterers, schools, country clubs, and specialty retailers since 1944.
Our facility has newly expanded and renovated our three processing units – meat, seafood, and poultry. The meat processing floor now covers over 9,000 square feet – one of the largest in the Mid-Atlantic region! Our seafood processing area has more than doubled in space, while our poultry processing area has also seen multiple improvements and expansion.
The latest addition at Buckhead Mid-Atlantic is our 3,500 square foot area for beef grinding operation. We operate a rigorous quality control system that is USDA inspected, and HACCP & SQF certified to assure you receive the safest, highest quality products. Our fleet of 50 company-owned and maintained, custom-built refrigerated trucks help to support that commitment.
In addition to specializing in center-of-the-plate products, Buckhead Mid-Atlantic features a wide variety of specialty and imported items. We have the products to satisfy every demand, from all-natural, halal, and organic meats to local artisan cheeses and hand-made hors d’oeuvres.
Buckhead Mid-Atlantic is open five days a week with our staff of courteous sales associates ready to answer your questions and help with your order Monday through Friday 8:00 am until 4:00 pm. You will never be sent to voice mail during our regular business hours. You’re important to us, and we want to talk to you personally. You can email or leave a voice-mail message up to 6:00 pm, and your order will be delivered the next day.

Our History
Buckhead Mid-Atlantic (formally known as Metropolitan Meat, Seafood, and Poultry) was officially incorporated in 1944 and operated out of a warehouse on 11th street, NW in Washington D.C. In 1959 Buckhead Mid-Atlantic Meat & Seafood moved into the South West Market Complex located on E Street SW, just blocks from the Capitol building. In the late 1960s, the second generation of Willard's joined the family food business. The 1970s were a period of continued growth, but by the early 1980s, many dramatic changes to the food distribution industry were taking place. Consolidation, competition, and economic conditions made survival difficult, and many distributors went out of business. Buckhead Mid-Atlantic built its business and reputation on outstanding customer service and distributing the highest quality food products. Concentrating on customer service and quality core values, Buckhead Mid-Atlantic continued to grow and diversify despite industry challenges.
The new century brought continued growth and more warehouse expansion. Changes and growth in the new century were not limited to the warehouse. The customer service area expanded to cover most Mid-Atlantic regions, including the greater Philadelphia metropolitan area and Southern Virginia. Product lines continued to grow with many gourmet specialty lines to complement our center of the plate items. National and world events refocused attention on the safety and the security of American food production and distribution systems. These issues had always been top priorities for Buckhead Mid-Atlantic. Still, we continued to make additional improvements to ensure the safety and security of all our products.
We will continue to satisfy our customers' needs and demands by listening to them and providing those services they need to be successful.
