About Us
On July 4, 2001, Buckhead New Jersey previously known as Trinity Seafood opened for business in the heart of the Jersey Shore in Asbury Park, NJ. Since then, we have become a leading provider of the highest quality seafood, and trusted by top foodservice operators.
In 2014, we joined the Sysco family as a standalone specialty seafood company. In January of that year, we relocated into an expanded, cutting edge, 30,000 square foot facility in Lakewood, NJ.
Buckhead New Jersey serves as the seafood experts for the Northeastern Operating Companies as well as other Retailers, Country Clubs, Restaurants, and Dining Facilities. Our merchandising team sources product from all over the world, 7 days a week, and receives three shipments daily: one for northern products, one for southern and one from the Mid Atlantic area. Our buying team includes three full-time buyers who share more than 100 years of combined buying experience.
Whether it’s the first soft shell crabs of the season or the opening run of the wild king salmon of the Copper River, if it swims and is season with a fishery management plan, our team can get it for you.
Fresh Selection
Our product variety features the greatest selection of fresh seafood that's harvested in local waters, including:

By purchasing as much local seafood as possible, they are able to provide you with the freshest products available. This practice reduces travel time and fuel consumption, reducing the carbon footprint while supporting the local economy. Product reaches the facility within hours of the boats docking, and is processed, packed, and shipped that night.
In additional to a local fish purchased from the Fisherman Cooperatives of New Jersey Trinity Seafood also carries a full line of fresh and frozen finfish and shellfish from additional ports around the US as well as internationally. Our close relationship to these valuable vendors allows us access to top of the trip quality fish on a daily basis so we are able to provide our customers with superior quality seafood. As a seafood specialty house for Sysco we require that our vendors practice the highest legal, moral and ethical standards of honesty, integrity and fairness.

Every day, our merchandising experts examine fish right on the docks. Once approved, the product is skinned, boned, and filleted – all by hand – to ensure proper fabrication. This ensures you receive the highest quality product, without having to spend time prepping the product prior to use.
Sustainability Measures
Buckhead New Jersey products are sourced through sustainable fishing practices on both a local and a global level. Additionally, the company has received their Safe Quality Food (SQF) level 3 certification, and actively participate in Fishery Improvement Projects (FIPs).
Quality Assurance
We conduct in-depth inspections of all product that is received, fabricated, packed, and shipped to ensure strict time and temperature controls are followed, and that you receive the freshest, highest-quality product possible.
